Voltage Regulators (Voltage Stabilizers)

What is a servo-controlled voltage regulator?

A servo-controlled voltage regulator (servo voltage stabilizer) consists of a microprocessor that continuously measures the incoming mains voltage, a servo motor that moves along a variac (autotransformer) according to this measurement, and a booster transformer that adds the correction voltage in series with the mains. When the mains voltage drops or rises, the regulator compensates for the difference at 80 V/s and delivers a stable output voltage with ±2% accuracy.

Single-phase or three-phase?

Homes, apartments, offices and businesses with a single-phase supply use single-phase voltage regulators (220 V output, 3.5–50 kVA). Factories, workshops, CNC machines, elevators, cold storage facilities and all sites with a three-phase supply use three-phase voltage regulators (380 V output, 6–150 kVA). Our three-phase models regulate each phase independently, stabilizing every phase separately even on unbalanced networks.

How do you choose the right kVA rating?

The regulator rating is determined by the total power of all appliances running at the same time, the power factor and the inrush current of motor loads. As a general rule, the total wattage is divided by a 0.8 power factor and a 20–25% safety margin is added.
