Artı voltage regulators with a servo system make it possible to control DC motors via thyristors. The booster transformer and variac (autotransformer) are connected in series with the mains to regulate the output voltage. In this way, variations and imbalances in the mains voltage are eliminated and a stable voltage level is delivered at the output.
